Alana is a results-driven legislator known for her accessibility, her deep roots in the community, and her ability to turn lived experiences into meaningful policy.

Alana brings a real-world understanding of community needs to the State House.
As a licensed mental health therapist with a private practice in North Kingstown, Alana works directly with children, families, and individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges.
That experience shapes her approach to leadership and keeps her focused on policies that help people grow, work, and thrive at every stage of life.
She believes government works best when it listens first and acts with purpose.
Since taking office, Alana has delivered tangible results across the district:

In North Kingstown, Alana secured funding for climate resilience, municipal upgrades, and sea-level rise planning. She has supported Quonset Business Park expansions to grow jobs and the local economy. Alana also passed clean energy policies balancing solar development with land preservation.

In Narragansett, she secured funding for Port of Galilee infrastructure improvements, increased municipal funding for public safety and sanitation, and championed public shoreline access. Alana enabled bond funding for attainable housing and supported major upgrades at the URI Bay Campus.

In New Shoreham (Block Island), Alana passed bills supporting the Block Island Utility District and protecting the municipal water supply. She advanced tax classification changes to meet the island’s unique needs, increased funding for public safety and sanitation, and improved access to senior services, food, and health care.

Across District 36, she preserved outdoor dining expansions post-COVID to help local restaurants recover and grow, improved access to affordable child care. Alana expanded opportunities for small food entrepreneurs through cottage food licensing, lowering barriers to starting a business. She has expanded the behavioral health workforce and programs to improve access to local primary and crisis care. Alana secured budget funding to stabilize statewide paratransit, improving access for seniors and residents with disabilities. She eased access to prescription drug refills and strengthened parent/educator partnerships in special education service delivery.
